DESCRIPTION:Whole Washington holds a volunteer retreat every 6 months. These events have supported building\, communicating\, and implementing our strategic plan to win state-based universal single-payer healthcare here in Washington. By bill or by ballot. \nThis October\, we are taking our retreat to SW Washington for the first time. We will be meeting at Loowit Brewing – Downtown Pub in their meeting space. Doors open at 11. Event will start at 11:15/11:30 and run until 4:30. This event is free and open to past\, current\, and future volunteers. Bring a fellow activist or co-conspirator. 🙂 Whole Washington will be providing a non-alcoholic beverage service and some appetizers. Feel free to purchase lunch from the pub menu. \nVancouver and the 49th LD are becoming more and more important in the healthcare justice movement in Washington. Look for other/additional events in the Vancouver area in October on our website calendar. \nIt is critical that we organize in every community. SUMMARY:Health Care is a Human Right Summer Cookout
DESCRIPTION:Whole Washington is a member of the Health Care is a Human Right (HCHR) WA coalition. This year\, HCHR’s Summer Cookout and General Meeting will be held in Northeast Tacoma on Sunday\, July 27th\, starting at 3:00 PM. We’ve secured a fantastic location right near the water\, offering breathtaking views and just a 10-minute walk from the beach\, perfect for a pre-cookout stroll or a refreshing dip. To make this a truly communal event\, we’re planning a potluck-style cookout\, so please bring your favorite food and/or drinks to share with everyone. We will also be cooking on site. In addition to good food and company\, we’ll have special guest speakers who we count as champions\, along with an important update from HCHR leaders on the latest happenings at the state and federal levels. We’ll also discuss concrete ways we can continue to be involved in our collective work towards healthcare justice. The exact address will be shared with all registrants the week before the event to ensure a smooth arrival. Families\, including kids\, are welcome.
