DESCRIPTION:This event will be huge this year. Music\, speakers\, food trucks and more. \nWe need several people to help host our WW Table. \n\n3 Set up people starting at 9am\, will need to load and unload our materials\, then move the vehicle to the designated parking space.\nFrom 11 am to 6pm volunteers every two hours to help with tabling and walking around the event with handouts!\nClean-up crew to be out of the area by 6pm.  We can assess how the event is going if we want to end earlier\nPeople will take breaks as needed.\n\nWe will have a planning meeting on June 11th for this event at 7:30 pm. A Zoom link will be sent to those who RSVP. Please look the Pierce County Slack Channel for a poll that has been created to sign up for times to be at the event. \nWe will have a great a time.  Walking around\, talking with people and enjoying the afternoon! \n

DESCRIPTION:Whole Washington volunteers were invited to table at this event hosted by UTOPIA. \nApril 27th\, 2024\, at Highline College in Des Moines from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm \nThe Climate Summit aims to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders\, including policymakers\, activists\, academics\, and community leaders\, to explore innovative solutions to the pressing challenges posed by climate change. Given Unkitawa’s extensive experience in protecting and healing the Earth for the benefit of all communities\, especially Native People. \nTabling will begin promptly at 9 am\, with tables and two chairs provided for each group. The venue will open at 7 am to facilitate setup\, ensuring smooth preparations before the official commencement at 9 am. The summit will launch with an amazing opening panel from 10:15 am to 11:30 am. \nPlease RSVP below.

DESCRIPTION:Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility and RIP Medical Debt are teaming up with Whole Washington!  We are visiting every corner of the state to create spaces for open dialog about the failures of the current for-profit system\, to solicit stories from those impacted by the lack of adequate nurse staffing\, hospital and provider closures\, challenges of navigating insurance coverage and denials\, or surprise bills and financial debt. This is a non-partisan\, educational event – open to the public.  WPSR will be sharing their Demand Access program\, RIP Medical Debt wants to raise $10\,000 to buy back 1 million dollars in medical debt from Washingtonians. And Whole Washington will be present to discuss our  Washington Health Trust.  We’ll end with Q & A from you\, the audience.  Everyone has a story and we want to hear yours. \nWe believe we can do better by establishing the Washington Health Trust and designing a nonprofit system that works for patients and providers\, without the corrupting influence of for-profit insurance companies. We believe unions\, small businesses and our communities will benefit greatly by disconnecting healthcare from employment and ensuring healthy families\, Longer and more productive lives and a healthy workforce. \nPlease RSVP below.
