SUMMARY:Let’s Make Healthcare Happen
DESCRIPTION:Whole Washington is coming to Downtown Vancouver\, Washington in Clark County for a Town Hall event!  We have been visiting every corner of the state to create spaces for open dialog about the failures of our current for-profit healthcare system\, to solicit stories from those impacted by the lack of adequate nurse staffing\, hospital and provider closures\, challenges of navigating insurance coverage and denials\, or surprise bills and financial debt. This is a non-partisan\, educational event – open to the public.  Everyone has a story and we want to hear yours.  We will also provide highlights regarding how the Washington Health Trust will resolve or begin to resolve your issues. and answer your questions. \nWe believe we can do better by establishing the Washington Health Trust and designing a nonprofit system that works for patients and providers\, without the corrupting influence of for-profit insurance companies. We believe unions\, small businesses and our communities will benefit greatly by disconnecting healthcare from employment and ensuring healthy families\, longer and more productive lives and a healthy workforce.  Join us to meet other Vancouver volunteers and find out how you can get involved. \nThis is an in person event to be held at the Vancouver Community Library. 10:30AM-11:30AM \n

DESCRIPTION:Join Whole Washington and the Clark County League of Women Voters for a community conversation about the woes of our current for-profit system and how establishing the Washington Health Trust could be a real solution for Washington state. Saving lives and saving money \nWe are creating spaces for open dialogue about our healthcare system.  In some way\, we’re all too familiar with the failures of the fragmented\, for-profit system that we have today.  Failures like: \n\ninadequate staffing\nhospital closures\nchallenges with navigating insurance coverage\ndenials\, networks\, and per-authorizations\nsurprise bills and medical debt\n\nWe know we can do better. By establishing the Washington Health Trust and designing a publicly funded\, nonprofit system\, we can offer comprehensive care to all Washington State residents.  Patients\, providers\, unions\, small businesses\, our entire community will benefit. When we disconnect healthcare from employment\, we live longer and save money. \nWhole Washington organizers will present about 20 minutes worth of material and then move into Q & A. Everyone has a story and we want to hear yours! We’ll highlight how the Washington Health Trust can resolve many existing issues and get us on track to a brighter future. \nThese town halls are non-partisan\, educational events\, open to everyone. Please join us and let’s increase our people power! Together\, we can make Universal Healthcare a reality. \nWe will be having a simultaneous online Town Hall for this event.
