Whole Washington supports universal healthcare for all - no matter what state you live in. The two federal proposals we consider highly relevant to our work are Medicare for All (M4A) and the State Based Universal Health Care Act (SBUHCA).

The Medicare for All Act (M4A) would create a universal healthcare system similar to the Washington Health Trust except at the national level. It has been proudly carried by Washington’s own Representative Pramila Jayapal since 2019.

The State Based Universal Health Care Act (SBUHCA) would make it easier for states like Washington to integrate fully integrate federal funding and programs with a state-level universal healthcare system. It was proudly debuted into Congress in 2015 by Washington's own Representative Jim McDermott, now retired.
