The Washington Health Trust's Essential Benefits Package covers all medically necessary care for all Washington residents. All employers and licensed medical providers in the state are allowed to participate.

  • Prescription drugs*
  • 24-hour emergency services
  • Maternity, newborn, pediatric care
  • Reproductive care
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment
  • Rehabilitative care, occupational, and physical therapy
  • Medical devices and biological products
  • Palliative and end of life care
  • Acupuncture, some massage, and other alternative care

*Generic prescriptions are fully covered. For any non-generic medications, the most an individual will pay for prescriptions is $250 per adult per year.

Coverage for all residents

All Washington residents and some eligible nonresidents may enroll in the Washington Health Trust. Residency is defined by the Health Care Authority and includes individuals that are:

  • Houseless
  • Unemployed
  • In Washington temporarily for a job
  • Traveling temporarily out of the state

Eligible non-residents will be defined by the Washington Health Trust Board and include:

  • Nonresident students attending college in Washington
  • Nonresidents employed within Washington
  • Spouses, domestic partners, and dependents of eligible nonresidentsÂ
