EMERGENCY MEETING: Responding to Medicaid Cuts & Trump’s Big Bill

The house just approved the Senate’s budget bill (known as the Big Beautiful Bill) 218-214 with every Democrat voting against it along with 2 Republicans. This is a disaster for healthcare in Washington State. Washington State took full advantage of Medicaid Expansion and is now being punished along with the other 40 Medicaid states.

New estimates from the Seattle Times indicate 490,000 people will lose Apple Health/Medicaid and an additional 150,000 could be priced out due to expiring subsidies. This is 640,000 Washingtonians or 8% of our population. This is a disaster that will more than double our uninsured and increase healthcare costs for all of us. 1 in 13 people will be losing healthcare.
