SEATTLE Care Not Cops

May 18, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Whole Washington will have a table at this event. Details from the Organizing Group: Labor for Black Lives below.

Two years ago, MLK Labor Council became independent of the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild, allowing them to stand for all workers, including those victimized by police violence & killings. On May 18th, some labor leaders want to undo this victory of the 2020 uprising for black lives.
Join rank-and-file workers & union members coming together to say “Keep SPOG Out!”
We’ll have:
– rank-and-file speakers
– Potluck dinner
– Labor solidarity movie screening
Police protect private property of the rich, and keep black and brown labor hyper-exploited. Policing & incarceration has never and will never reduce crime.
Hear from fellow workers about a vision of public safety that’s rooted in having basic needs met like housing, food, education, & transit.
Sign the petition and join us in person to show the MLK Labor Council that rank-and-file workers stand together in solidarity to keep SPOG out. All workers & students are welcome.
