"Like so many families, I know what it feels like to sit at the kitchen table trying to figure out healthcare coverage, whether a doctor is in network, what a prescription will cost, or if you can afford the care your family needs. Healthcare is essential infrastructure, and local government has a responsibility to connect people to affordable, comprehensive care so no one falls through the cracks because it is too expensive, confusing, or inaccessible. Until the legislature delivers universal healthcare, counties and cities must step up to fill the gaps by investing in community clinics, expanding mental and behavioral health access, funding healthcare navigators, improving language access, and bringing care directly into underserved neighborhoods, and I wholeheartedly support Whole Washington in their fight for universal healthcare."
