Happy April Whole Washington! We hope you have a Spring in your step and are ready jump into the latest ways to organize with Whole Washington. Our new monthly meeting schedule has us meeting on the first Monday of the month at 7pm, which is tonight (4/3)!
The Four Teams
Whole Washington believes in the advancement of universal healthcare at all levels of government and using our citizen-power to push wherever we see anything less than complete commitment to healthcare justice
We have four separate teams putting pressure on our public officials. Here are the teams and links to register for their next meetings:
- Commission Team – Register for meeting on (April 4th at 10am; April 6th at 7pm)
- State Legislature Team – Register for meeting on 4/11 at 7pm
- Federal Congress Team – Register for meeting on 4/20 at 6pm
- Ballot Initiative Team – Register for meeting on 4/24 at 6pm
Teams are intended to encourage folks to specialize, but you may join as many teams as you like!
Each of these teams is doing critical work and each strategy feeds into the others. Ultimately, what they all share in common is that they are building a grassroots mass movement for healthcare justice, one that is big enough, organized enough, and powerful enough to win.
Pledge to sign
One way we are building ground-level support for our next ballot initiative is by circulating a brand-new pledge campaign. Digital pledges do not count as signatures towards getting policy onto a ballot – but they give us a way to collect support online, support we can carry between years and campaigns. When we officially have another ballot initiative we will be able to follow up with pledges and work with them to collect their wet signatures.
We are building a bigger, more organized, and more effective Whole Washington. Thank you for being a part of this movement.
